Backlinks has big influence to increase your google page rank. Some source said that you need to find more backlinks to inrease your web pagerank.
Backlinks are like links or ways or connections to get to your website. The more connections to your websites the more traffic are sent to your website.
Although nobody knows the exact Google PageRank values, the table below gives a fairly good representation of how many external links, of certain PageRank values, are required to achieve a certain Google PageRank.

For Example:
To get PR3 for your web, you will need 555links from web with PR1 or just one link from web with PR5. But, you should note that the web that links to you shall not has more thna 10 external links or outbond links.
