Realization on Making Magical Robe

by cheesy on Feb.05, 2009, under Technology

harry-potter-costumeWow! Unbelievable what science and technology has found! The desire to have a cloak or robe that can make our body disappear or invisible just like Harry Potter’s will soon form. The researchers have found the steps to complete this research.

Researchers of United States and China are working together and soon will produce the result. Using the calculation algorithm, the researchers from Duke University, North Carolina, United States, successfully developed a metamaterial.

“Metamaterial is a material that will be used in making the disappeared cloak. Material that is able to guide electromagnetic waves around the object and then make the object to be invisible or disappeared,” said senior researcher in the team, David R. Smith.

This “magical cloak” project is supported by the academics and scientists. The other supporters are the National Science Research United States Air Force and National Science Foundation China.

Previously, researchers design a prototype cloak in 2006. Harry Potter’s robe was made by the research team. The measure is approximately 50.8 cm x 10 cm high with less than 2.5 centimeters.
